Launching ceremony of AHA program

Funded by USAID, CHF and its partner Rene Moawad Foundation RMF launched The Apple Harvesting Aid (AHA) in Mejdlaya (North Lebanon). Michel Moawad, RMF executive manager, Bill Grant, representative of US Ambassador in Lebanon, Stephan Herbaly, USAID representative, Eng.Ayman Abdallah, CHF chief of party and farmers attended the launching ceremony.

Moawad stressed on helping and assisting apple farmers in North Lebanon and  pointed out at this initiative in helping Lebanese youths and students that are suffering from unemployment by providing them with short-term cash-for-work and training opportunities.

Grant thanked the organizations that are implementing the AHA program that is funded by USAID to assist Lebanese growers and families"

Furthermore, Eng. Abdallah thanked RMF for the their cooperation over the last 2 years in the apple harvesting projects “that came in the right time to help the apple growers following the disaster that affected the apple orchards in several Lebanese areas… we must celebrate this year our 10th anniversary of cooperation with RMF” he stated.
